These photographs were taken between 1983 and 1987 in New Mexico at various horse racetracks, mainly at Ruidoso Downs and Sunland Park. I began visiting the racetrack at Sunland Park when I was 13, made friends with kids in the community, learned to groom, eventually quit high school and ran off with the horse races, taking photos all that time. This is the first time in decades that I've worked with these images. I hope this small sample gives a picture of life on the racetrack, in the 80's. I welcome comments and questions.
