Tom Groesbeck 2023
I have been drawing and woodcarving for many years as a hobby. I started taking drawing and painting classes in 2015 when hand surgery limited my carving ability.
I participate in as many painting workshops and classes as I have time for. Have taken
workshops from Joe Kronenburg, Howard Friedland, Stan Miller, Jef Gunn and Max Ginsburg to name a few.
Much of my painting today consists of plein aire landscapes. I enjoy painting local scenes along the Spokane River, Mnt Spokane, Palouse, and Heyburn State park. More recently at Frenchman’s Coulee, Columbia River gorge and the Oregon Coast. Also enjoying painting urban landscapes, city scenes and construction sites. My current work is in oils and watercolors. Have been building most of my own frames, including milling the mouldings. Also working on a website with the help of my niece. Like painting, it too is a work in progress. Can be viewed at TomGroesbeckArt.com.
The work shown as the artist's headshot is available exclusively during the PopUp Gallery for the Spark an Artist Fundraiser - donated by Tom Groesbeck, it is 18”x 24” oil on cradled panel.
