Emily Akin 2023
Emily Akin is a creator and writer raised on the Palouse. Her work aims to capture the unique drama of Northwest's rural places and people, and the link between land and legacy. In addition to her photography, she has directed theatre at colleges and in communities in Washington and Idaho, and is an active play and screenwriter; her script "Tributaries" was a 2022 Austin Film Festival second-rounder, and her play for children, "Goodnight, Little Trout," was recently featured locally as part of an evening of plays about Idaho. More of her photographs of the Northwest can be found on Instagram at @emmakesphotos.
